We continually give thanks to our God for His abundant blessings upon Ministries of Faith New Life. The economic challenges of recent years around the world have affected many ministries, and we are no exception. Even so, we continue to trust that He is the One who cares for us as His children.
Recently, we welcomed Emmanuel, age 9, and Yoshuan, age 8, who are brothers. They came to live here because their mother, due to her difficult financial situation, needed a place where her children could receive both an education and instruction in the Word of God. We also continue caring for the other children God has entrusted to us, providing them with a safe home, education, and spiritual guidance.
Our children’s home ministry has grown from 3 children to 10. Brother Alex and Sister Mariana are faithfully serving as house parents, caring for the boys. Gerson and Yancy Cartagen a are serving as house parents to the girls: Amy (3), Genesis (7), Paula (9), and Milagros (10).
Many afternoons, the children enjoy playing soccer and basketball, riding their bicycles, and spending time together as a family. We are praying wholeheartedly that, in His great mercy, God will provide each day for the needs of these precious children.
May is a very special month in the life of every family. In Honduras, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May, both in churches and schools. At our school, the teachers and students prepared a special program dedicated to all mothers. It is a beautiful time when families come together to celebrate and spend time with one another. 
After approximately five months of drought, we received rain last week, a result of the El Niño phenomenon! The drought had been so severe that for the past two years we were unable to plant trees. We thank God that this year we were able to do so. May 30 is celebrated in Honduras as National Tree Day, and schools participate by planting ornamental and fruit trees. The children, teachers, and parents joined together to plant several trees on the school grounds. Many other schools in the community of Azacualpa, as well as throughout the country, also participated in this beautiful reforestation campaign.
It is not easy to serve on the mission field, but we know that the One who called us is faithful, and each day He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
