Campus Details
The campus includes a main house and two cottages where the director and house parents live. There is also a multipurpose building which is used as a church, cafeteria, clinic for medical teams, and large meeting room on the premises. You’ll find the Vida Nueva Christian School there and a Guest house for visiting missionary teams. Additionally, the grounds house a school concessions stand, soccer field, playground, gardens and a gazebo.
Campus History
2001 – Pastor Dago and the medical/dental mission group first saw the land. Without knowing whether it was up for sale, they went onto the property and prayed for it.
2001 – After listening to Pastor Dago’s vision for the land, the previous owner offered the land for $10,000 US, half the original asking price.
2001 – Work began on the property by installing a fence and constructing the first building.
2002 – Work began on the second building and final touches were added to the first building.
2003 – Opening Ceremony was held signaling the launch of the Children’s Home.
2004 – Playground was installed
2005 – Work began on the first family cottage. Funds for this cottage were made possible by donations from the First Baptist Church of Champaign at Savoy Illinois
2006 – The first cottage was completed.
2007 – Work began on church building. It was dedicated in June 2008 and is being used for church services.
2008 – Work began on the second cottage. Funds for this project were donated by the Champaign, IL Rotary Club.
2009 – The second cottage was dedicated.
2011 – the water well was completed.
2012 – The school building – which doubles as Sunday school classrooms – was dedicated.
2018 – Work began on expanding the school.
2023 – The addition to the school building was finished.
